Who we are
This website is operated by Spalding Farm Shop Limited (company number 05534151), trading as Spalding Farm Shop, Seasonal Plant and Gift Centre, registered office Scoldhall Lane, Surfleet, Spalding, Lincolnshire, PE11 4BJ. VAT registration number GB865824977. These terms apply whenever you use this website or buy anything from us, whether online, over the phone, or in person at the yard.
Products, photos and pricing
We do our best to describe and photograph everything accurately, but plants are living things — size, shape and colour will vary a little from the photo, and from one plant to the next. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. We’ll always confirm the full price, including any delivery or postage charge, before you’re asked to pay — nothing is added afterwards.
How a contract is formed
Submitting a quote through this website is a request, not an order — it doesn’t commit you to anything. We review it, confirm availability and the final price, and send you a payment link. A contract between us is only formed once you complete that payment (or, for in-person sales, once payment is taken at the yard).
Pre-orders
Some plants are listed for pre-order ahead of a delivery from our growers in Italy, Spain or the Netherlands. Dates given are our best estimate, not a guarantee — shipments can be delayed by weather, customs or the grower. If a pre-order is significantly delayed or the plant doesn’t arrive as expected, we’ll contact you before taking payment, and you’re free to cancel at that point with a full refund of anything already paid.
Payment
Online payments are taken securely through Stripe. In person, we accept card payments at the yard. We never see or store your full card details.
Delivery and collection
You can collect from the yard, take our own local delivery, or have smaller items posted by courier. Delivery and postage costs are calculated from your postcode and shown before you pay. Risk in the goods passes to you once you (or someone at your address) collects them or accepts delivery.
Cancelling an order and returns
Because live plants deteriorate rapidly, the usual 14-day “change of mind” cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply to plants. It does apply to other items we sell, such as hampers, clothing and gift items. Whatever you buy from us, your rights if something is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered are never affected. If something goes wrong
Get in touch first — most things are sorted with a call or an email to shop@spaldingfarmshop.co.uk. If we can’t resolve a complaint between us, you can contact Citizens Advice for free, impartial guidance on your consumer rights and any dispute resolution options available to you.
Our liability
We don’t exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the goods in question.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — the date at the top always reflects the latest version. Changes won’t affect an order you’ve already paid for.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. This doesn’t affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
