One of the most popular evergreen shrubs in British gardens, Photinia 'Red Robin' puts on a spectacular show of vivid scarlet new growth that gradually matures to a glossy, deep green. This young specimen is already displaying that signature flush of red and copper tones on its fresh shoots, hinting at the bold seasonal colour it will bring year after year. Wonderfully versatile, it works beautifully as a hedge, a focal point in a border, or trained against a wall.
Care
Thrives in full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil. Water regularly when newly planted; once established it is reasonably drought tolerant. Prune in spring and again in late summer to encourage fresh red growth and maintain shape. Shelter from harsh, desiccating winds. Feed with a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring.
