A beloved evergreen shrub celebrated for its spectacular flushes of brilliant red new growth that emerge with real drama throughout spring and summer. The leaves mature to a glossy deep green, creating a striking two-tone effect that keeps it interesting all year round. Care
Thrives in full sun to partial shade; more sun encourages the richest red colouring. Water regularly when establishing, then moderately once settled. Prune in spring and again after each flush of new growth to encourage repeat colour and maintain shape. Avoid waterlogged soils. Feed with a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring.
